When Simone brought the sea to my house, I realized I couldn’t put it anywhere; I hadn’t cleaned the garage or the den. She set it down in the kitchen for now. I had questions about how she stole an entire body of water, but her hair was frazzled and her eyes had volcanic rings, so I let her take a nap. We could go fishing in the sea when she woke up, and we could talk then.

  1. Love it! The words, the image, the immersion, the nap.
